“…If you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” (Jesus, Matthew 25)
Grace Community Church is learning to step into the mess the world is in and let God use us to be a life line for those that want to be rescued. It takes time, patience and understanding to reach into some of the situations Satan deceives people into.
The prayer walks in the north end of Mt. Vernon have given us opportunity to talk to, pray with and share the gospel with a lot of people in a very troubled part of town. About 40 of you came and participated in a cookout for that community. We also had representatives from 5 other churches there. Our goal and desire is simply to take the gospel into our city, county, and beyond.
We are actually following our mandate as God’s church to “go into all the world…” Our drug riddled communities don’t need more politicians making ineffective promises they can’t, nor do they intend to, keep. They need Jesus and you are the means by which they will come into contact with him. Don’t let the enemy deceive you into thinking you are not good enough or knowledgeable enough to be used by God to bring the message of Christ to a sin sick world.
The Wednesday after the cookout we had a bus load of children come to youth meeting. The next Wednesday we had even more. This creates an interesting environment but is an opportunity to share Jesus with children that are in very poor circumstances. We need help on Wednesday evening with the younger children. Pray about it. I know God is already speaking to you about participating. Contact Melodee Tickle, Cassandra Byers, and /or Jason Doyle if you are interested in helping out in this very vital area.
“…If you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” This is where you will meet Jesus.
